The asphalt flotation stability tester is designed and manufactured in accordance with the requirements of the "Asphalt Float Test" in the Ministry of Transport's standard "Test Procedures for Asphalt and Asphalt Mixtures in Highway Engineering". It is suitable for determining the float of materials such as the residue after distillation of slow-setting liquid petroleum asphalt, coal asphalt, etc. The float of asphalt is the time required for the sample to gradually soften and be broken by water in a specified float tester from being placed in a water tank at a certain temperature, expressed in seconds. Unless otherwise specified, the test temperature of the residue after distillation of liquid petroleum asphalt is 50°C, and the test temperature of coal asphalt is 32°C or 50°C.

The asphalt flotation tester can be used as a constant temperature water bath when the asphalt float test is not performed.
